FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Some financial support from AgentLink and ECCAI will be available for PhD students or young researchers wishing to attend the ACAI-01 course. For further details on the application procedure see below.


AgentLink Student Travel Support
Some financial support is available for full-time PhD students registered at universities that are members of AgentLink II. The application deadline is 15 April 2001.
This support is intended to cover the costs of registration, student accommodation, and subsistence to an UPPER LIMIT of 600 Euros. PhD students should apply in writing to:

The application should arrive no later than 15 April 2001.
Notification of awards will be no later than 30 April 2001.
 
Each application should contain:
  • your full name and full contact details;
  • a brief description of your PhD research, and a statement of no less than 500 words explaining why you feel you should receive support; and
  • a signed letter from your PhD supervisor or head of department, supporting your application and confirming your status as a full time PhD student (the letter should carry the official stamp of your institution).
 
ECCAI Grant Offers
ECCAI will provide travel grants for members of an ECCAI affiliated society participating in ACAI-01. The awards, valued at 400 Euros each, are for reimbursement of travel and/or payment of registration fees. The participants supported by an ECCAI travel grant will be charged a reduced registration fee of 295 Euros.
Applicants for travel grants must be actively participating in ACAI-01, such as presenting a paper in either a student session or a workshop. Other active participation may be eligible. Priority will be given to applicants that are presenting a paper. Those wishing to simply attend the event will be considered as a lowest priority on the basis of need.

Application Procedure
Applicants should send to the ECCAI Travel Grant Officer as soon as possible and no later than April 9, 2001 the following documents:
  • A brief CV, including current professional status (PhD student, postdoc, teaching staff, research staff, etc.) and a selected list of publications.
  • Letter or other evidence of professional status and confirmation that the applicant will be allowed leave to attend the event.
  • Evidence of membership of an ECCAI affiliated society
  • A case for support, no more than 3 pages, which includes:
    • Evidence of existing interest and expertise in Artificial Intelligence.
    • Reasons why ECCAI should make the award to the applicant and a description of the part the applicant will play in the event.
    • The amount the visit will cost together with evidence of any financial support for the remainder of the cost.
 
Electronic submission of applications is highly encouraged.
