conjunction with the Twelfth
International Conference on Munich,
Germany; 3-7 September 2001 Workshop
proceedings to be published by IEEE TECHNICAL
DESCRIPTION: Holonic
and Multi-Agent Systems provide a novel paradigm for managing, modelling and supporting complex systems. This concept proved to be successful in
number of industrial domains such as manufacturing, resource allocation, air
traffic. The
workshop aims to bring together researchers active in the area of holonic and multi-agent systems
together with key engineers and
industrial decision makers to share their views and experience in research, design, development and
applying Holonic and Multi-Agent
Systems for industrial problems. Program committee encourages submissions of
contributions discussing questions
(but are not limited to) such as: · Successful
Industrial Applications of Holonic and Multi-Agent (Case-Studies are
specially appreciated) · Differences
and similarities between the concept of Holons and Agents · Communication
Principles and Standards · Theoretical
background behind holonic/agent concepts (do they converge to each other?) · Visions
and future trends of Holonic and Multi-Agent Systems · Standardisation
issues, industrial needs · Obstacles
and barriers of industrial applicability
All papers will be refereed by at least 2 members of the program committee. All accepted papers will be published by IEEE in a volume of proceedings of the DEXA'2001 workshops. Authors
are invited to submit research contributions or practical experience reports in English. Papers must
be double spaced and no longer than
5000 words. Authors should submit papers either: ·
electronically via email to marik@labe.felk.cvut.cz, or ·
by conventional mail to the Workshop Chair: Prof.
Vladimir Marik 1. Submission
deadline: March 10, 2001 2. Notification
of acceptance: April 23, 2001 3. Camera-ready
copies: May 2001 (precise date to be advised) Extended
versions of selected papers will invited for contribution in a special issue of Journal of Robotics and Autonomous
Systems (under negotiations) Vladimir
