HoloMAS 2002

3rd International Workshop on
Industrial Applications of Holonic and Multi-Agent Systems
September 2, 2002

in conjunction with
the 13th International Conference on
Database and Expert Systems Applications (DEXA 2002)
2-6 September 2002, Aix en Provence, France

CALL FOR PAPERS

Holonic and Multi-Agent Systems provide a novel paradigm for managing, modelling and supporting complex systems. This concept proved to be successful in number of industrial domains such as manufacturing, resource allocation and production planning, air traffic.

The workshop aims to bring together researchers active in the area of holonic and multi-agent systems together with key engineers and industrial decision makers to share their views and experience in research, design, development and applying Holonic and Multi-Agent Systems for industrial problems.

SUGGESTED TOPICS (but not limited to):

  • Successful Industrial Applications of Holonic and Multi-Agent Systems (Case-Studies are specially appreciated)
  • Differences and similarities between the concept of Holons and Agents
  • Communication Principles and Standards
  • Theoretical background behind holonic/agent concepts (do they converge to each other?)
  • Visions and future trends of Holonic and Multi-Agent Systems
  • Standardisation issues, industrial needs
  • Obstacles and barriers of industrial applicability
