The European IST Grand Prize Nominee Logo

EISTP - The European Information Society Technologies Prize (www.ist-prize.org) is the most distinguished award for groundbreaking products that represent the best of European innovation in Information Society Technologies. It is organised by Euro-CASE* with the support and sponsorship of the IST Programme of the European Commission.

The 213 proposals from 29 countries were evaluated by independent experts from 16 European countries, nominated by Euro-CASE and agreed by the European Commission. Euro-CASE has first proposed 66 "Nominees for the European IST Prize" and from amongst them Euro-CASE chose 20 Nominees for the European IST Grand Prize - their names were announced on the European IST Prize website on October, 6 (http://www.ist-prize.org/nominees/listgpn.html). These products will be exhibited at the European IST Prize Exhibition at the European Commission in Brussels on November 30 - December 1, 2005.

From amongst the 20 Nominees for the Grand Prize, Euro-CASE will propose 3 Grand Prize Winners to the European Commission. The European IST Prize Awards Ceremony will take place on March 23, 2006 at the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna.

Among the 20 nominees there is a single product from the Czech Republic, namely the I4Control® system created at the Department of Cybernetics of CTU in Prague (http://cyber.felk.cvut.cz).

Year 2004

Czech Head Prize Logo

Czech Head is a project intended to support scientific and technical intelligence, which was announced in March 2002 (www.ceskahlava.cz). It consists of a set of mutually interconnected activities the aim of which is to promote science and increase social respect for Czech scientists and engineers whose results can have significant impact on the future prosperity of the country. Each year the project culminates in a ceremony awarding a prize to the authors of the best scientific and technical results achieved recently.

In the year 2004, it was decided by the jury in an unanimously vote to award the I4Control® system by a special award.
