Description:Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) for treatment of NOx in the vehicle exhaust gas uses urea to selectively promote chemical reactions that convert NOx to harmless nitrogen molecules and water. Urea is injected into exhaust gas where it is converted to ammonia, which acts as the reducing agent for the NOx conversion on the walls of the SCR catalyst. The walls are covered with catalytic materials to boost the reduction.
The objective is to design and implement a simplified SCR model, ammonia storage observer and a simple feedback controller (ideally MPC). The SCR model will have only one chemical reaction – fast SCR.
