Popis:Develop a modular web-based software system for image processing and analysis. The idea is that clients, e.g. clinicians, would not need to install any special software to use our image processing algorithms, and would use a web browser instead. Image processing modules will run on a server as a web service and can be written in a variety of programming languages (Python, Matlab, C, Julia,...). It should be easy to plug-in existing tools such as ImageJ(Fiji), or Ilastik. Clients will connect using their web browser and will be able to have their images processed. The web client should also support efficient annotations, i.e. manual labeling and segmentation. The system should support large number of large images, images in both 2D and 3D remote image servers, including DICOM servers.
The project may be based on extending existing similar systems such as Bisque (http://bioimage.ucsb.edu/bisque) or Omero (https://www.openmicroscopy.org/omero/).
