PhD Students Win International Competition with AI for 3D Roof Reconstruction

PhD students Miroslav Purkrábek and Jan Škvrna emerged as the winners, competing against approximately thirty participants from around the world in the international Structured Semantic 3D Reconstruction (S23DR) competition. The competition was held as part of the Urban Scene Modeling workshop at the CVPR 2026 conference in Denver, USA, in June.

CVPR is considered one of the world’s most prestigious conferences in the field of computer vision and, according to Google Scholar Metrics, is the most highly cited conference in the world. This is a significant achievement for the Visual Recognition Group (VRG): members of the group have won all three editions of this international competition held to date.
