Title - Touch sensitive robots: Current practices and future possibilities for
whole-body coverage of tactile sensors on robots
Abstract - The sense of touch is a foundational sense for humans and animals to
experience the world around them. Robots, however, are rarely equipped with
sensors that emulate skin, the human body’s largest sensory organ. In this
talk, we will cover how researchers and industry currently try to give robots
the sense of touch, unavoidable challenges to be solved, and future
possibilities through generative modeling and printed electronics.
