|Description:||The objective of this project is to design and develop a sensor system to analyse acceleration of individual axes of a six-axis industrial robots. Acceleration sensors or sensor modules must be selected and connected to an embedded processor such as Texas Instruments Sitara, which is suitable for industrial applications. There are two options: wireless or wired system, whereas in both cases good resistance to electromagnetic interference is a key aspect. Another issue is a sampling rate in the range of 1ms.
The system will be able to gather data describing the robot trajectory in the joint coordinates, process them and perform further analysis. The data will be prepared to be transferred online into an above-laying processing (PC, industrial PC, etc.).
Start by doing research of the available chips and sensor modules, available communications (wireless, wired) and achievable sampling rates. Select a corresponding processor from the TI Sitara family and develop a prototype using an evaluation board.
It is possible to do follow-up projects as master theses.
