|Topic:||Control system for the lubricating tram|
|Description:||The aim of this project is to finish a control system for the lubricating tram. This tram is highly popular among the Internet community (http://technet.idnes.cz/prague-czech-republic-oiling-tram-tatra-t3-stream-live-video-webcam-10s-/tec_technika.aspx?c=A151014_164011_veda_pka) and it lubricates the rails around Prague to prevent noise and wear of wheels. For the time being, lubrication is controlled manually by a tram driver but the tram is prepared for a GPS based automatic control – a powerful control unit with GPS and Internet connection, relays controlling the valves etc. Aim of this project is to
- Design simple circuitry for connection of the control unit to the relays
- Write a program that will control the lubrication according to the GPS position
- Design a GUI to set and check places where the rails are lubricated
This project will be solved in close cooperation with DataRail company (http://www.datarail.cz/). It is possible to continue after finishing the project and to work on even more ambitious assignment – automatic braking for trams that would increase the safety.
