| Abstract: |  This thesis covers topic of falls of elderly people and fall detection. It introduces reader into the basic of the topic. Furthermore it studies fall detection algorithms and usage of such algorithms. Output of this work is an application for smartphones with Android operation systems, which detects falls and sends alerts to chosen contacts. Final algorithm was designed with specificity 0,867 and sensitivity 0,85. Part of the work covers a web portal to which the application can be connected.
