Abstract:This thesis aims to prove that hybrid neural networks developed by Jaroslav Vítků as a part of artificial life research lead by Pavel Nahodil on CTU in Prague (Faculty of Cybernetics) is a viable concept. The main goal of this thesis is creation of a simple artificial creature capable of solving Block World problem. A combination of neural network and a domain independent planning algorithm is used to achieve it. Separate modules communicate through Robotic Operation System (ROS) and are joined in a hybrid network using Nengoros simulator. Whole network and its parts are put through several experiments to verify their functionality. Aside from a working example of a hybrid neural network there are other results in reusable nodes containing SOM and STRIPS algorithms that can be freely reused in future work as they are designed with versatility in mind.
