Abstract:This diploma thesis focus on motion control systems, especially on motion control systems Simotion from Siemens and on robots KUKA. This work describes the systems and compares their capabilities. A mathematical model of a synchronous motor with permanent magnets is created in Matlab. The motor is controlled from the system Simotion. The position control loop of the motor is closed in the system Simotion over the Profinet network. Simotion a robot KUKA are connected together with a PLC and all systems are communicating over the Profinet network. The control of systems Simotion and robot KUKA are compared and a motor from robot KUKA is connected the the system Simotion, it demonstrates a possibility, how to control a robot with the system Simotion.
