Pavel Petracek presents Dronument: Cooperative Aerial Autonomy for Digitalization of Historical Monuments

The seminar will present the achievements of Dronument (2018-2022,
dronument.cz), both from the views of a roboticist and an end-user working in
heritage protection. The discourse will include discussion of
1) impact of aerial robots in preserving cultural heritage,
2) developed methodology for the usage of aerial autonomy in heritage
preservation,
3) portability of the developed technology to industrial environments,
4) capabilities of multi-robot cooperation in performing previously unrealistic
documentation tasks, and
5) identified problems and open research challenges in the field.
The discussion is part of our latest RA-Magazine paper, "New Era in Cultural
Heritage Preservation: Cooperative Aerial Autonomy for Fast Digitalization of
Difficult-to-Access Interiors of Historical Monuments," to be presented also at
