Jiri Hammer presents Mapping motor and cognitive functions using intracranial EEG

Intracranial EEG (iEEG) is a useful tool for cognitive research as it allows
monitoring of brain activity at high temporal (millisecond), spectral (up to 200
Hz) and spatial (millimetre) resolution. Due to its invasive nature, iEEG is
usually measured in patients with pharmacoresistant epilepsy. During their
video-iEEG monitoring period (1-2 weeks), various cognitive tasks can be
performed in agreement with the patient. We focus on tests of motor functions
(e.g. Hammer et al., 2016; Hammer et al., 2022), error-related potentials
(Voelker et al., 2018), processing of visual stimuli (Vlček et al., 2020), the
influence of mood on decision making (Cecchi et al., 2022), or switching of
internal and external attention (Hammer et al., 2023 - in prep.).
